Four new Ford truck engines increasing power, mileage

Profits from sales of Ford us already collected are duplicated in the rest of the car industry, but Dearborn automaker is waiting for even greater impetus once offers four new engines in its 2011 F - 150.

Ford is promising a 20% increase in fuel economy in general with its new engines, which are expected to begin arriving in dealerships in early December.

"We know that GM and Toyota customers in particular tend to focus on fuel economy highly", Doug Scott, director of marketing of Ford truck said Wednesday in a media in Dearborn event to display the new powertrain line-up."And we know from research that several of them are willing to change brands for a significant improvement in fuel economy.

New Ford engines include a V6 3.7 litres, a 5.0 l V8 litres, a V8 6.2 litres and a V6 Turbo 3.5 litres of EcoBoost.

Scott said customer Ford Research shows that 70% of buyers collection size full want better fuel economy and 30% would consider switching brands for the best fuel economy.

Ford F-150, with a 4.6-litre V8 models most get 15 m.p.g. in the city and 21 on the road, according to the EPA.

"We will offer better power, performance and fuel economy... so I hope that there must be some additional market opportunity," said Scott.

New Ford engines are part of an effort to provide more power and fuel efficiency improved on all its products.

Ford F-Series includes nine models of F-150 and six Super Duty models.

While plans for some of the new engines of F - 150 Ford were announced at the beginning of this year, Wednesday was the first time that Ford gave details of rendimiento.Ford said:

-The V6 3.7 l generates an estimated 300, power 275 libra-pies torque and 6,100 pounds of towing capacity.

-The V8 5.0 litres generates an estimated yields 360, 380 libra-pies torque and 9,800 lbs capacity trailer-- the V8 6.2 litres generates 411 horsepower, 434 libra-pies torque and 11,300 pounds of towing capacity.

-The 3.5 litre EcoBoost will offer comparable to a V8 engine and with 20 horsepower % better than the outgoing engine fuel economy.
